Bridgelux F90 Series Expands Into Residential Applications, Delivering High-Quality Lighting

A licensing agreement for potassium fluorosilicate (PFS) technology with GE Lighting (a Savant company) will enable Bridgelux to apply its F90 technology to a wide range of consumer lighting solutions.
Bridgelux, a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative LED solutions, has expanded its popular F90 (CRI 90) product line from commercial to residential applications. A licensing agreement for potassium fluorosilicate (PFS) technology with GE Lighting (a Savant company) will allow Bridgelux to incorporate F90 technology into a broad array of consumer lighting products. Popular lamp types now powered by F90 technology include A-lamps, BR, MR, and Candelabra bulbs.
Bridgelux has developed a significant, enabling LED packaging technology that facilitates the transition of PFS from cool-white (>4000K) applications-such as display lighting-to warm-white (2700K) residential lighting. Previously, the latter application was restricted due to lifespan issues associated with PFS in high-heat environments. Bridgelux's patented, innovative packaging solution resolves these lifespan challenges, paving the way for the adoption of F90 technology in the home.

Traditionally, there has been an inverse relationship between CRI and luminous efficacy: the higher the CRI, the lower the efficacy. By replacing broadband red nitride phosphors with narrowband PFS phosphors, F90 products achieve performance comparable to competitor products with a CRI of 80. While delivering a CRI of 90 or higher and an R9 value greater than 50, F90 products meet the efficacy standards required for California Title 20 certification, as well as European Energy-related Products (ErP) Class C (165 lm/W) and Class B (185 lm/W) ratings. The chart below lists the F90 LED and lamp types ready for immediate release.
