Official performance data highlights the exceptional capabilities of the 90 CRI models featuring a 3000K color temperature and a 15mm Light Emitting Surface (LES). At a drive current of 900mA, the standard 5th-generation Core Range model delivers a typical luminous flux of 4657lm and an efficacy of 151lm/W, while the Core Range PW version of the same specification boosts typical luminous flux to 4725lm and efficacy to 154lm/W. For lighting manufacturers, this increase in light output density means achieving higher brightness within existing luminaire designs or reducing the light source size for equivalent brightness requirements, thereby creating more room for optical design optimization and luminaire miniaturization.

Noman Rangwala, Global Product Manager at Lumileds, stated that the performance breakthrough of the 5th-generation CoB products stems from the brand's proprietary phosphor combination technology and years of accumulated LED manufacturing expertise. Beyond improvements in basic optoelectronic performance, the upgraded phosphor technology directly enhances the device's color stability, ensuring consistent color performance across the entire dimming range.

Color consistency during dimming has long been a key challenge in commercial lighting. In settings such as retail stores, spotlights are frequently adjusted for installation distance and output brightness based on merchandise displays; however, some light sources exhibit color shifts at the beam edges or uneven color rendering after dimming, directly impacting the visual presentation of the products. To address a common industry challenge, the 5th generation LUXEON CoB Core Range series features optimized color uniformity during dimming; color temperature and color rendering performance remain stable across the beam regardless of the dimming level, enabling lighting designers to achieve consistent illumination effects within a space.

Regarding energy efficiency compliance, performance upgrades in the 5th generation 90CRI CoB series have boosted the product's energy efficiency rating by one tier, ensuring full compliance with the latest EU Ecodesign requirements. For lighting manufacturers targeting the European market, adopting this series can effectively improve the energy efficiency of the final luminaire, reduce additional compliance certification costs, and shorten time-to-market. Amidst tightening global energy efficiency standards, high-efficacy, high-CRI COB light sources are becoming the mainstream choice for mid-to-high-end commercial lighting.

The 5th generation LUXEON CoB Core Range series offers a variety of light-emitting surface (LES) sizes and package specifications, making it suitable for luminaires such as spotlights, track lights, and downlights with diverse power ratings and beam angles. Beyond retail and hospitality, the series is ideal for environments requiring superior color rendering-such as dining areas, exhibition halls, and museums-enhancing visual lighting quality while helping end-users reduce long-term energy consumption.

The 5th generation LUXEON CoB Core Range and Core Range PW series have officially entered mass production and are available for shipment. As a professional LED component distributor, Gainer LED has incorporated the entire series into its standard supply portfolio, offering a comprehensive selection of color temperatures and CRI options. The company also provides technical support and flexible supply chain services to assist lighting manufacturers in rapidly executing product upgrades and project implementations.
